Survivor’s Standouts: Early Risers Edition

sunThis morning I work up at 7am. I’m not really sure why. I guess because my body is “programed” to wake up then. Ironically when my alarm goes off on weekend mornings at 7am, I’m grouchy and want to keep snoozing all morning. Today I was peppy and full of energy. So I made good use of the energy and cleaned the bathroom and our bedroom. I organized my coupons, vacuumed the couch (yes you have to do that with 3 furries), and put together a package of stuff to send my grandparents. Go me!

What’s your weekend looking like? Do you have any fun plans?

  1. Dear Debt

Thanks for the link love, KK! I hope you have a great, relaxing weekend πŸ™‚

    1. KK

You’re welcome πŸ™‚ Loved that post, very interesting.

  2. Laurie @thefrugalfarmer

Wow – way to go, girl! I love those days when there’s just tons of energy and motivation to do what needs to get done – they’re awesome! Thanks for the mention, and have a great day. We’re getting ready for a family bday party for daughters #1 and #3. πŸ™‚

    1. KK

Aww, hope that party was a lot of fun!

  3. Emily @ evolvingPF

Wow, what a productive bonus hour! I slept until 11 AM accidentally… πŸ™

    Thanks for including my post!

    1. KK

Woke up today at 8, but I still feel like I’m getting more “use” of the day that way.

  4. femmefrugality

I love when that happens! Especially if it’s before everyone else in the house is up…I get SO much more done that way! Thanks for the mention…you highlight some REALLY great reads this week! (I mean the other ones that aren’t my own. :p)

    1. KK

I totally agree, there were a lot of good reads in the blog-o-sphere this week and last. It was hard just to pick a few.

  5. Micro

Gotta love those days when you wake up early and have energy to get things done. I usually get to look back at the end of those days and think, “man, I got a LOT of things done”. If only I would get those kind of days more often.

    1. KK

Agreed, I’m trying to “make” them happen more often. Too few hours in the day and too big of a “to-do” list.

  6. Janine @ MoneySmartGuides

Wow that’s motivating. Hoping to do the same tomorrow. It feels so good for it to be noon and all or most of the things you need to do are done! I’ve been away for so many weekends and this weekend really started to take care of the house again. Today was a later start, but you’ve just motivated me to get up early and finish!

    1. KK

Writing this reply at 8am, hoping you’re already well into your way in getting things done. As soon as I finish replying to everyone I’m going to go wipe down my counters and clean the oven. Gotta make good use of this time. Being done by noon feels awesome.

  7. C. the Romanian

My body is also programmed to wake up at around 8AM (since I work at home, I still consider that too early :D), but at least it’s better than waking up too late and realizing that the day is almost gone πŸ™‚

Also, thanks for mentioning my blog post!

    1. KK

I really hate waking up at noon because then I feel like I wasted the day and I have to hurry to get everything done. I wouldn’t say I’m naturally an early riser, but over the years I guess I’ve trained myself to be.
