So Monday is the, “big day” for all of you last minute tax preparers. If you’re like the bf you haven’t even started your taxes and won’t even think about doing so until midnight on Sunday. I keep asking him if he’s filed yet and he keeps saying that he’s, “on it” and not to “rush” him. Umm honey, I’m not rushing you, but the feds are!
My taxes, of course were completed and filed at least a month ago. I already got my refund money back and had it direct deposited into my savings account. I clearly didn’t do a very good job figuring out how much to have taken out of my check each month, because I got back slightly over $1000. Long story, short, I had changed my deductions last year because I was making a fair bit of money freelance writing and didn’t want to owe anything to the government.
This year I was more busy with work, so I didn’t make quite as much freelance income, and ended up getting a refund. But with that being said; with my new blogging adventures and some freelance work I’ve been picking up, I plan to keep my deductions the same this year and hopefully break even next year (no money paid in, no money paid out).
So, a few of you have noticed that my posting schedule has been a little bit off over the past week or so. I typically try to post on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and then do a survivor’s standouts post on Sunday mornings. This past week has been a little bit nutty (with good things that I’ll be sharing soon!) so I wasn’t able to put up a survivor’s standouts post last Sunday. I also forgot to schedule my Friday post, so my apologies (I know everyone was sitting on the edge of their seat waiting for one-wink).
I’ve been thinking about posting a survivor’s standouts post every other week instead of every week, but haven’t completely decided yet. I love thanking the folks who have mentioned me, and giving a shout-out to my favorite bloggers, but I dislike that I always seem to wait until the last minute to write them (and then I spend several hours in front of the computer, instead of spending quality time with the bf). Because we don’t get to spend a lot of time together during the week, it’s important to me that we try to reconnect on the weekends.
