Today’s Standouts are being brought to you by: Freshly Washed Laundry. Yup! We (our condo association) finally bought a new washer and dryer and it was installed today! If you remember, our “old” washer and dryer were destroyed during Hurricane Sandy and we’ve been without laundry since October.
Not having a washing machine might not seem like a huge deal, but with a bunch of family visiting for the holidays and lots of towels and bedding that needed to be laundered; wash, dry and fold by the pound was sure adding up (thankfully bf was sweet enough to pay for this service because I was ready to have a nervous breakdown thinking about how we’d get all of that laundry back and forth to the laundromat without a car.
What this whole experience has taught me is: be thankful for what you have. A car and a washing machine might not seem like “luxury items” until you don’t have them. Next step is a “new to us” car, which bf has been diligently looking for.
