Survivor’s Standouts August 4th

bar harbor

Bar Harbor Countdown is on!

So I finally finished my class and now I can enjoy a little bit of the summer. Bf and I are going up to Maine in a couple of weeks to visit my folks and we’re really excited. Not only will it be wonderful to see and catch up with everyone, my parents also happen to live on a lake so we’ll be soaking in some sun and doing a little swimming too. Add to that one of my best friends from high school is a lobster fisherman who always brings us 10-12 lobsters when he visits, and we’ve practically got a party on our hands. I can’t wait!

It’s been far too long since I’ve put together a list of standouts. So here are just a few of the posts I’ve been enjoying over the past few weeks.

Big congrats on finishing up your class – that vacation is well-deserved, that’s for sure. Oh, and the lobster sounds just delicious!!! We had fresh lobster on a trip to Myrtle Beach years ago, and WOW. Nothing beats it! Can’t wait to hear all about your vaca – have a great time, and thanks for the mention too. :-)

Thanks Laurie, I’m really glad to be finished. One more to go this fall, ugg. 1 and a half more weeks to the vaca and lobster, yay!

  2. Mrs. Pop @ Planting Our Pennies

Glad that you’re finally able to enjoy the summer and have class behind you. Hope you guys have great plans for the rest of the weekend, and thanks for the shout-out on our guest post! =)

Thanks Mrs. Pop. Had a pretty good weekend. Weather here has been gorgeous!

  3. Dear Debt

Yay, relaxation time. I’ve heard Maine is great, and a house with a lake? Wow. Hope you are having a great weekend.

A lot of people in Maine live on the ocean or lakes, but we realize we’re pretty lucky. Living by the water in NY would cost a fortune.

Thanks for the mention! I hope you’re having a great weekend!

No problem, great posts, happy to include them.

Breaks after class are always a fun time. Although I always feel weird during the week because my schedule suddenly becomes filled with more free time.

    1. KK

I feel that way right now actually. It’s sort of strange because I have free time to read the books I want to read and write for the blog instead of writing papers. It’s a good thing for sure.

Congrats on finishing your class!! That must be such a huge relief – enjoy your vacation and family time (oh, and the lobster – sounds delicious!).

    1. KK

It sure is. Good to have a little free time and to be able to unwind a little bit leading into my vaca.

  7. DC @ Young Adult Money

Maine will be a great break for you! Thanks for the mention!

    1. KK

A much needed break. We’re really ready to have some time off.

  8. Glen @ Monster Piggy Bank

Man I love eating lobsters! Enjoy, and thanks for the mention :)

Funny, I used to hate lobster when I was a kid (image that, a kid from Maine who doesn’t eat lobster, right?!). Now I enjoy it, but it’s not really as big of a “deal” to me because lobster is everywhere in Maine. It’s sort of like having chicken for dinner lol.

    Thanks for the mention KK!
