2013 Goals

4207563765_954cd50863

With the end of the year nearing, and 2013 right around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about New Year’s resolutions. While I’m not really one to make “resolutions” per se, I think of the new year as a fresh start and a good time to think about goal making. These are my goals for 2013.

Personal Goals

  • Cook 1 new meal per week (chosen from a cookbook or blog)
  • Read 6 books
  • Make 6 knit projects- Sometimes I’m overambitious, 1 every other month this should be “do-able”
  • Lose 10 pounds
  • Get engaged-BF are you reading this?? hint hint

Professional Goals

  • Obtain my 2nd professional license
  • Get a raise-this should happen when I get the second license
  • Research Private Practice Options

Blogging Goals

  • Get my Alexa Ranking below 200k & keep it there
  • Have 500 Twitter Followers
  • Have 50 RSS subscribers
  • Guest Post at least 4 times this year

Money Goals

  • Save $12,500
  • Send the grandparents $1,200-See this post to explain why.
  • Travel to Las Vegas (the bf really wants to do this) plus 1 other mini-trip paid for in cash we’re trying to squeeze more “experiences” into the budget. See this post about my resolution to spend more money this year.

These are the goals I can think of for now, I might add a few more as I think of them.

What are your goals/resolutions for 2013?

Good luck with your goals over the coming year and be sure to post about them so that I can keep up to date.

      Will do, thanks Glen!

  2. Greg@ClubThrifty

Good luck with those goals! The all seem attainable for you…especially the getting engaged one;)

    1. KK

Right? I’m not in a super rush, but it is something that’s important to me.

  3. Mrs. Pop @ Planting Our Pennies

Setting the goals is definitely the first step in achieving them! I’ll be rooting for you to achieve all of these and more =)

    1. KK

Thanks, I didn’t want to “over do it” with goals that were too much of a stretch. These goals all should be achievable. I’ll be posting periodically with progress.

  4. Michelle

I hope 2013 is great for you!

    1. KK

      Thanks Michelle, you too!

  5. Pauline

Good luck KK! If you cook some delicious meal on top of being the awesome gf you already are you should get engaged sooner than expected!

    1. KK

Right? I might even cook red meat for the bf if that could get us to a ring.

  6. Tackling Our Debt

Good luck on your goals! And take the bf to Vegas. It is so much fun!!

He’s super excited and I’ve never been. I think it will be fun. I’m not really a gambler but I’ve heard the restaurants and food are great. Plus if we go this winter it will be nice to get away from the cold for a few days.

What type of license are you going for?

Also, LoL at getting engaged. Sounds like it’s going to happen, just a matter of when :)

My LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). In NY state there are two sets of licenses for masters level social workers. LMSW-first license you can get immediately after finishing graduate school and passing the test and LCSW-second license you can apply for after passing a test and completing 3 years of supervised clinical practice. To see private practice patients you have to have the LCSW.

If you are KK’s BF and you are reading this DEFINITELY get engaged!! Great goals for 2013, we share a couple of the same goals. As for cooking new meals, we have recently setup a pinterest account and love it. So many ideas to choose from. I look forward to following you in 2013.

I think the bf has pinterest. I’ll have to ask him to take a look. He’s excited about that goal, so maybe I’ll have him start compiling a list of dishes we want to try.

  9. Edgar @ Degrees and Debt

Great Goals! I want to visit Vegas myself! Maybe they can help me pay off some debt haha
